This is the last week of August. Can the market stage a month end rally or was it a bear flag (on lower volume) that we saw last week?

Tue: Consumer Confidence, FOMC Minutes
Notable earnings: BGP

Wed:
Notable earnings: BIG, CHS, CWTR, ENER, JOYG,PSS

Thurs: GDP
Notable earnings: DELL, HRB, VIP

Fri: Core PCE Inflation, Personal Income, Personal Spending, Chicago PMI, Fed Chairman Bernanke Speaks

Hi :

Very comprehensive blog you have. The market took the Feds non-comment on a possible Fed rates cut in September real badly and plunged -280 points.

I really wonder how the investment banking counters like BSC, GS and LEH would behave when they report earnings sometime in mid Sep. But by then, the stock might have priced in before earnings.

Guess Inc. (GES) would be reporting their Q2 earnings results next Tuesday, 4/9/07.

This stock has gapped up min. $6.00 price movement for the last 2 quarters' earnings. On Friday, 31/8/07, GES has already went up $3.00.

Let's see how it perform this round amidst a volatile market.
